Role: M&A Analyst
Location: We operate a hybrid schedule, meaning 2-3 days a week in the office based at Thorpe Park, Leeds.
Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 DOE, plus extensive benefits

Pharmacy2U has a strong track record of organic growth (c.30% pa) and has accelerated growth by completing 5 acquisitions in the past 2 years.
As the M&A Analyst, you will play a crucial role in delivery of the M&A strategy. There is a large and growing pipeline of M&A targets, and this is now a core part of the group strategy.
Working closely with the FD, CFO, Chief Strategy Officer and M&A Director, this position will be pivotal across the entire acquisition life cycle. The role will involve the development of the initial business case and proposals, identification of synergies right through to financial due diligence and integration planning. The role will require close collaboration with the Senior Leadership team and external advisers.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, or with a transaction services team within an accountancy firm. The role will require a strategic mindset, with the ability to provide insights that drive the company’s financial performance and growth.

What you’ll be doing?
- Work across the entire transaction lifecycle, from initial assessment through execution to post-merger integration, collaborating with internal teams, finance leadership (CFO, FD) and external advisors.
- Working on prospective M&A targets - forecasting and building business cases
- Working with M&A Director and FD to build valuation models
- Performing financial due diligence
o Review and assessment historical actual performance, trend analysis, KPIs and the overall health of the target company
o Quality of Earnings analysis
o Reviewing inconsistencies, challenging data, and providing financial expertise
o Challenge and assess forecast assumptions vs historical trading performance and KPIs
o Review of balance sheet trends, cash and working capital
o Analysis of net cash/debt and identification of debt like items within the balance sheet
o Normalised EBITDA and working capital analysis
o Review of completion
- Conducting market and sector research, and competitor analysis.
- Identifying and quantifying synergies and upside opportunities for both the target and the P2U Group
- Preparation of FDD reports to highlight potential risks and opportunities for consideration by the ELT/Board.
- Integration planning with the wider business and across all areas of the finance team
- Post-acquisition reporting and tracking delivery of benefits and synergies
- Fulfilment of any post-acquisition deliverables such as completion accounts
- Working with external teams such as tax and legal advisers
Who are we looking for?
- Experience of M&A either in industry or within a transaction services advisory team
- Experience of working in a dynamic environment, delivering against tight deadlines
- Qualified ACA/ACCA, with experience from a commercial and technical accounting background
- Advanced excel skills
- Excellent report writing skills
- Experience in consolidation and acquisition accounting
