We are looking for an LTL Operations Specialist to join our growing Less-Than-Truckload team. This role will serve as a key resource for ATG agents, customers, carriers, and internal teams by providing operational support throughout the lifecycle of LTL shipments.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation environment, and able to problem-solve through complex shipment issues. This individual will manage LTL operations for a dedicated group of offices while also supporting broader initiatives across ATG's growing LTL platform.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day LTL operations for a dedicated group of ATG offices and customers.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for LTL systems, processes, carrier requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Monitor shipments and proactively assist with delayed, damaged, missing, or misrouted freight.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments with customers, carriers, and receiving locations.
  • Research and communicate carrier rules tariffs, accessorial requirements, service limitations, and applicable fees.
  • Assist with freight classification, NMFC-related questions, shipment dimensions, and other information required to accurately quote and move LTL freight.
  • Support billing discrepancies, carrier invoice issues, disputes, claims, and shipment-related escalations.
  • Communicate directly with carriers to resolve operational and service-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records, notes, documentation, and follow-up activity.
  • Identify recurring service or process issues and work with internal teams to improve the customer and agent experience.
  • Partner closely with ATG LTL, billing, claims, and operations teams.
  • Help educate agents and internal teams on LTL processes, carrier requirements, and best practices.
  • Provide a high level of responsiveness and customer service while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Transportation or logistics experience required, preferably within LTL transportation, freight brokerage, carrier operations, or customer service.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments, issues, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to research issues, identify solutions, and take ownership through resolution.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers, carriers, agents, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems and standard business applications.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Position may be based in Atlanta, Charlotte, or Chicago, with remote candidates considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3+ years of professional transportation, logistics, or related experience.
  • Previous LTL transportation experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with freight billing, carrier invoice discrepancies, claims, or transportation disputes.
  • Familiarity with freight classification, NMFC, carrier rules tariffs, and LTL accessorial charges.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking and analytical abilities.
