Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistant will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary:
Assist provider(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for provider, and performs various clerical duties.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist provider with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
- Escorting patients to exam room.
- Preparing exam rooms.
- Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
- Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
- Administering injections.
- At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
- Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
- Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
- Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Education:
- Practical Nursing education and Current State LPN licensure required or MA Credential.
Preferred:
- Previous MA/LPN experience in a medical office helpful.
Skills Required
- Practical Nursing education and current Ohio LPN license
- Current MA credential, such as RMA, CMA, or CCMA
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, professional attire, and timely task completion
- Adaptability to expanded roles and willingness to assist coworkers
- Previous medical office LPN or MA experience
What We Do
A large private multi-specialty physician group in the city of Toledo. The Clinic also has radiology services (x-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT and other scans), laboratory services, and a pharmacy on the main campus at Secor Rd and Sylvania Ave. The physicians represent essentially all specialties and the breadth of primary care. The main campus facility also includes a newly designed outpatient surgery center serving all surgical specialists at the Clinic.
