We are seeking a contingent Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Behavioral Health Team in Newark, Ohio. 


Compensation: $27.00/hr.

Position Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse at National Youth Advocate Program provides medical assistance to the persons served including performing physical assessments and treating acute, minor illnesses as needed.

Responsibilities:

The LPN will perform duties including, but not limited to:

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program's mission, values, and philosophies.
  • Perform physical assessments on each client upon arrival and intake.
  • Identify abnormal findings and notify the client's physician or consulting physicians. 
  • Assure the need for medical treatment for illnesses and/or injuries are being met. 
  • Assure the administration and implementation of physician orders, and when appropriate, educate the appropriate staff on administering medication and/or treatments as needed. 
  • Assure all documentation and required record keeping is completed in a timely manner.  
  • Assess minor illnesses and administer non-prescription medications per approved Standing Orders Policy. 
  • Schedule and coordinate examinations by the consulting physician for each persons served. 
  • Assure the program's compliance with Medical Policies and Procedures as well as Standing Orders.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with valid licensure. 
  • Nursing experience working with adolescents is preferred. 
  • Must be able to maintain compliance with attending agency required training programs. 
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Scheduled Hours: every Friday 9:00am-5:00pm and as needed.

Driving and Vehicle Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Good driving record
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
