The Role

The Lot Assistant is a  Lane Captain that plays a key role in ensuring smooth auction operations by coordinating vehicle movement and maintaining flow during sale days. This position is responsible for identifying, preparing, and directing vehicles to the correct lanes before and during the sale.

Hours: Tuesday ONLY  from 9:00am-1:00pm or extended hours depending on auction activity

Pay Range: $19.50-$20 hourly

**Clean Driving Record/Clean Background A Must**

Description: Lane Captain 

  • Direct and coordinate the movement of vehicles before and during auction sale events.
  • Jump-start vehicles as needed to ensure operational readiness.
  • Assist Lot Specialists in spotting vehicles and identifying missing or misplaced units.
  • Communicate with Mobile Mechanics to address any immediate mechanical issues.
  • Ensure all vehicles are in the correct lanes and ready for sale at the scheduled time.
  • Locate keys and match them with corresponding vehicles to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain communication with the Lot Manager to report status updates and escalate issues.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies while operating or moving vehicles.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. 
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate various types of vehicles (manual and automatic).
  • Basic automotive knowledge and ability to perform minor tasks like jump-starting vehicles.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in varying weather conditions.
  • Team player with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

  • The physical activity requirements of the position range from Light to Medium Physical Work
  • Frequent – standing, watching, touching, listening, walking, talking
  • Potential – running, jumping, yelling or other rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations
  • Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions.

Physical Working Conditions
This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station/convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations.
