We are currently looking for a Total Loss representative to join our team in Mississauga, ON (Hybrid).

The Total Loss Representative will be responsible for managing total loss claims from opening to closing, ensuring timely resolution while minimizing financial exposure for the company. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with insurance adjusters, legal partners, and external vendors. The successful candidate will also support related activities such as GAP claim generation, warranty cancellations, and customer communication throughout the process.

This position plays a key role in protecting company assets and ensuring a smooth and professional experience for our customers during a stressful event.
 

A Day in the Life:   
 

  •  Manage total loss claims from initial notification to final settlement, ensuring all steps follow internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  •  Negotiate with insurance adjusters to minimize company losses and secure the best possible settlement outcome through effective claim negotiation.
  • Generate GAP claims when applicable and ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and submitted promptly.
  •  Collaborate with Legal to notarize documents and support any legal requirements tied to the total loss process.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding warranty cancellations and ensure refunds or credits are processed correctly.
  • Communicate with customers, insurance adjusters, and internal teams via email and phone to provide updates, request documents, and resolve inquiries.
  • Review account activity to ensure accuracy, including payments made after the date of loss and any adjustments required.
  • Maintain detailed documentation in all systems to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Support departmental goals by contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining service quality standards.
  • • Perform other duties as required to support the Total Loss operations team.
    Who We’re Looking for:      
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • University degree is preferred.
  • Experience working in insurance, sales, or collection
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Word/Excel/Outlook, and good comfort level adapting to new computer systems is required.
  • Able to multi-task, good analytical skills and have an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Must be Eligible to work in Canada, as NCI does not provide any sponsorships.

Salary Range:

$51,601.00 - $63,397.00

This compensation range represents the minimum to midpoint base salary rates at Nissan for jobs assigned to this particular grade level. Please note that an employee’s base salary may occasionally be set above the midpoint of the salary band for this grade level, in recognition of the employee’s unique skills, work experience, education, work location, or market conditions. Compensation decisions also consider internal equity and comparisons with the base salary rates of other employees with similar backgrounds working in comparable roles. Note: Bonus, benefits, and other forms of variable compensation are not included in the base-salary range shown above.
