Job Description:
Position Summary
- Develop, maintain, and support PLI-based mainframe applications.
- Manage both batch and online processing to ensure smooth business operations.
- Provide production support, including a 24x7 on-call rotation for critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, test, and maintain PLI mainframe applications.
- Update and enhance programs according to business requirements.
- Create and manage JCL, batch jobs, and workflows.
- Deliver production and on-call support, monitoring and resolving batch job issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
- Maintain system availability and stability for business applications.
- Work with stakeholders to address application issues and change requests.
- Use TSO/ISPF, Endevor, File Manager, and similar tools for debugging and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with DB2, scheduling, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
- Assist with releases, deployments, and DR/BCP activities.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base.
- Adhere to coding standards, security, and change management processes.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience in PLI programming on IBM Mainframe.
- Proficiency with:
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- DB2 or equivalent databases
- PLI / CICS
- Mainframe tools such as TSO/ISPF, Endevor, File-AID
- Batch processing and scheduling tools
- Background in production or application support environments.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.
