The Supply Chain Supervisor / Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is a critical leader responsible for overseeing all shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient processing of customer orders and incoming receipts. This role drives operational excellence by maintaining inventory accuracy through regular cycle counting and audits, optimizing logistics processes, and enforcing safety and quality standards. The Supervisor develops and mentors team members, ensures proper staffing, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration within the department.

The Job:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and development for employees in the Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse departments, including interviewing, training, assigning work, and performance management.
  • Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities to ensure on-time, accurate fulfillment of production and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including carrier scheduling, dock assignments, shipment documentation, and communication with transportation providers and third-party logistics partners.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials and finished goods; support production by staging and issuing materials as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, audits, reconciliation activities, and root-cause analysis of discrepancies, drive inventory accuracy and accountability.
  • Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety protocols; ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, train, and mentor warehouse and shipping personnel, fostering a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to resolve employee relations issues and support team development.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures for all areas of responsibility, continuously improving processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with management to meet department KPIs for safety, staffing, quality, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the warehouse and dock areas.
  • Operate or oversee the operation of powered industrial vehicles (PIV), including forklifts; ensure all operators are properly trained and certified.
  • Support compliance with exports, quality, and regulatory requirements applicable to the manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the logistics and operations team.

The Person:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, shipping documentation, and warehouse management systems (WMS); SAP, JDA, Ariba, or CHR Navisphere experience a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish desired.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to operate or be trained to operate various powered industrial vehicles (PIV); forklift certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated orientation toward safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Will be working in a manufacturing plant with varying climate
  • Able to stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Able to lift, push and/or pull up to 33lbs individually and up to 66lbs as a team
