Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule transportation for inbound and outbound shipments
- Act as the main point of contact for customers providing proactive communication over the phone, via email, and in person as necessary
- Provide customers with shipment information and ensure changes to orders are acknowledged and acted upon in a timely manner
- Provide quick and effective solutions to resolve transportation delays and complications
- Assist with shipment documentation including BOLs, labels, and invoices
- Work effectively and collaboratively with all departments and team members
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems to track shipment operations, communications, and develop weekly/monthly reports and data analysis
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop strategic solutions with customers and carriers
Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, business, supply chain, or engineering is highly preferred
- Minimum 1-year third-party logistics experience preferred
- Minimum 1-year sales and/or customer service experience preferred
- Experience conducting business over the phone highly preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Superb verbal and written communication, strong professional phone presence
- Proven ability to work independently and be a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and persuasive skills
- Sense of urgency when resolving customer issues
- Attention to detail without sacrificing accuracy
- Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple tasks in a high-stress environment while hitting KPI’s
- Strong people skills including ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and carriers
- Determination and tenaciousness with strong work ethic, self-motivation, and sales drive
