Are you detail-oriented and passionate about logistics? As a Logistics Specialist, you'll collaborate with trucking partners and loading teams to ensure containers are accurately loaded, properly documented, and delivered to ports on schedule. Your expertise in shipment verification, system updates, and tracking container movements will be essential to keeping our supply chain running smoothly.
This job is primarily responsible for coordinating transportation and export logistics activities supporting agricultural commodities and hay export operations. Responsibilities include coordinating with trucking providers, scheduling shipments, verifying export documentation and bookings, and ensuring products are delivered accurately and on time from facilities to ports.

In this job, you will:

  • Coordinate with trucking companies for on-time delivery to ports.
  • Works closely with Loading Supervisor(s) to ensure shipments are loaded accurately, completed according to specifications, and dispatched on schedule.
  • Verifying shipment information is accurate and bookings are valid at ports.
  • Monitor container movements and verify receipt at the port under the appropriate booking and vessel assignment
  • Input container information from truckers into applicable system, e.g. Business Central.
  • Verify and print BOL’s and distribution to the loading crews.
  • Confirm and verify stack information in applicable system, e.g. Business Central.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Here’s what you’ll need to be considered:

Education

Required –High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education, training and working experience.

Preferred – Associate’s Degree or equivalent.

Experience

Required – One year experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, agricultural operations or related field.

Preferred – Experience in supporting agricultural commodity, hay or export logistics operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge and understanding of commodity transportation, preferably within trucking industry.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
  • Good phone etiquette skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paces work environment.

Physical Demands & Requirements

Sedentary work.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Hearing.  Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.  The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.

The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment.

The expected base pay range for this role is:

$23.00 - $27.00

Actual pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including work location, job-related knowledge, skills and relevant experience for the job. Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular period of time.
