Logistics Coordinator (International)
The position requires the processing of inventory and transportation-related data into meaningful output mediums while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction; assisting with the oversight of the company domestic transportation network, carrier selection and communication; managing within regulatory compliance rules and regulations; carrier relations; transportation planning and effective communication with both internal and external departments; all in a supporting atmosphere of courtesy, cooperation, dignity and respect. This position will work closely with warehousing, sales, and customer service with an emphasis for on-time deliveries, and customer correspondence
Reports to the International Logistics Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
- International Transportation Planning – Coordinate with International Suppliers and Internal Teams to coordinate timely collection and movement of container loads.
- Provide daily and weekly communication to the distribution center(s) regarding inbound deliveries.
- Data input integrity, following SOP’s, and establish desk level instructions
- Monitor and confirm carriers are in compliance (rates and on time performance) for lanes being utilized
- Work with 3rd Party Freight Payment provider while aligning with internal accounting for proper cost allocation, carrier adherence of processing instructions and compliance, and freight payment provider to ensure business needs and agreement is met (Domestic/International)
- Work with carriers to ensure timely pickup of Inbound shipments and proactively identify problems to management
- Prevent and troubleshoot logistics incidents that may cause or had caused in-transit delays
- Ensure the accuracy and completion of all data entry procedures and/or reports
- Leverage SAP Systems to efficiently manage daily tasks
- Provide backup support as needed for Corporate Logistics Group:
- Interacts with internal and external customers with verbal and written communications.
- Follow and enforce company policies and procedures (i.e. Human Resources, Safety, Quality and Environment).
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace and address compliance issues, implement and maintain safety and compliance procedures.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
- Occasional reaching, bending, and lifting objects weighing 40 lbs. to shoulder level or above
- Vision and manual dexterity for frequent keyboarding / PC use.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Admin, or Logistics Management (preferred). Equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
- 3+ years experience of international freight coordination (internal and 3rd party).
- 2+ years working experience of ERP systems (SAP Preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel usage
- Must possess the aptitude to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
- Proven team player with a strong analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning capabilities in a fast-paced environment
- Professional and courteous communicator
