The Domestic Logistics Specialist oversees domestic transportation operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Responsibilities include managing carrier relationships, forecasting and capacity planning, resolving shipment and billing issues, and driving process improvements through data analysis and performance monitoring.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Oversee execution of service agreements and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and trading partners.
- Manage carrier forecasting, lane awarding, volume allocation, and capacity planning.
- Coordinate special customer and vendor programs across logistics and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure accurate contracts, rates, audits, and invoices; approve freight and accessorial charges.
- Submit and track freight claims; resolve shipment and billing issues promptly.
- Analyze data to identify trends, exceptions, and drive process improvements.
- Lead or participate in meetings with internal and external partners.
- Onboard new service providers in compliance with corporate and audit requirements.
- Monitor carrier performance metrics, DC yard health, pool amounts, and equipment escalations.
- Maintain carrier rate matrix and host regular carrier touch-base meetings.
- Assist in training Coordinators I & II.
- Assist in creating SOPs for current and new processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
What Are We Looking For?
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years domestic logistics industry experience
- Understand supply chain concepts, logistics terminology, shipping/contract terms and transportation cost structure across various transportation modes
- Has in-depth knowledge of Logistics and the ability to plan and execute shipments to meet business needs while maintaining overall costs and service levels relevant to corporate goals
- Work on projects during unconventional work hours as needed
- Good understanding of electronic data interchange (EDI) across systems
- Must be able to work with confidential information
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work across the company and with all stakeholders
- Detail oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Ability to independently make decisions, follow through on projects, take initiative, and self-direct
- Ability to utilize report writing tools to obtain information

What's Our Offer?
Salary Range: You`ll earn between $32.56 - $43.27 on an hourly basis, depending on experience.
Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.
Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?
Hybrid: SanMar's Eastpointe office is located in Issaquah, WA in the Seattle metropolitan area. Employees are required to work in our offices Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional days may be added based on business needs. Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Periodic travel may be required. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and participating in virtual and in-person meetings. Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and standard office equipment is required. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be needed to attend meetings or collaborate in an office setting. The role requires the ability to perform close visual work on a computer for extended periods. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10–15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
