Job Purpose
As a Logistics Manager based out of Sterling Heights, MI, you will lead a team of drivers while coordinating daily logistics operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality waste collection services. Acting as a liaison between drivers, customers, and internal teams, you will provide real-time support, oversee route performance, and drive continuous improvements to enhance both the driver and customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and support a team of drivers, including daily oversight, coaching, and performance management
- Assign and adjust routes and carrier responsibilities to ensure efficient service delivery
- Provide real-time support to drivers throughout their routes, resolving service, safety, and equipment issues
- Serve as the escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Communicate with drivers and internal teams via phone, Microsoft Teams chat, and video
- Collaborate with logistics, customer service, and quality teams to drive service excellence
- Track, trace, and update the status of daily waste removal routes using internal systems
- Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with onboarding and training of new drivers and provide ongoing coaching
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement operational enhancements
- Monitor waste storage areas, documentation, equipment, and procedures from the Sterling Heights yard
The successful candidate profile includes:
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field; supervisory experience required
- Strong knowledge of routing, dispatch, and fleet operations
- Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics/route management systems
- Customer-focused with strong organizational and time management abilities

Skills Required
