Position Summary:

The Logistics Manager leads and owns end-to-end logistics operations, including inbound and outbound freight, 3PL warehouse management, and carrier/vendor relationships. This role is accountable for the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods from suppliers to customers, ensuring on-time delivery and high service levels while managing and developing the logistics team. The position partners closely with supply chain, sales, and finance leadership to set logistics strategy, oversee daily operations, resolve escalated issues, and drive continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is detail-oriented, analytically strong, and experienced in logistics management within a fast-paced food or CPG environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the logistics team, setting goals, managing performance, and building the capabilities needed to support business growth.

  • Oversee daily inbound and outbound freight operations, including shipment booking, delivery tracking, and exception resolution, ensuring the team meets service and cost targets.

  • Own and manage strategic relationships with 3PL warehouse partners, freight carriers, and customs brokers to ensure reliable and cost-effective logistics execution, negotiating contracts and SLAs.

  • Direct the carrier RFP (Request for Proposal) process, evaluate bids against cost and service benchmarks, and own carrier scorecards to drive data-informed selection and ongoing performance accountability.

  • Define, monitor, and report on logistics KPIs (OTIF, freight cost per case, fill rate, transit time) to leadership, identify performance gaps, and drive continuous process optimization across transportation and warehousing operations.

  • Conduct network optimization analysis to identify opportunities for lane consolidation, mode shifting, and DC footprint improvement, translating findings into actionable cost reduction initiatives.

  • Process and manage purchase orders, advance ship notices (ASN), and EDI transactions in SAP ERP.

  • Coordinate with demand planning and inventory teams to ensure proper stock positioning and timely replenishment across distribution centers.

  • Support import/export compliance activities, including documentation management (BOL, POD, commercial invoices, customs entries).

  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, finance, and procurement leadership to align logistics strategy with business priorities.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, freight operations, or supply chain, including direct people-management or team-leadership experience; food, beverage, or CPG industry experience preferred.

  • Hands-on experience conducting carrier RFPs, bid analysis, and building carrier performance scorecards.

  • Proficiency in SAP ERP (ECC/S4HANA); experience with TMS, WMS, and EDI platforms strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis); experience with logistics KPI dashboards or BI tools a plus.

  • Working knowledge of domestic and international freight regulations, Incoterms, and import/export documentation requirements.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Korean proficiency is a plus.

Preferred:

  • APICS CPIM or CLTD certification preferred.

  • Experience with Costco, Walmart, or major retail customer logistics and compliance programs.

  • Familiarity with CTPAT, FDA import requirements, or food safety logistics standards.

  • Experience working in a Korean-headquartered CPG or food company.

The base salary for this position is between $90,000.00 and $120,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including an annual incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, PTO/FTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
