Northrop Grumman is seeking an Logistics Engineer / Principal Logistics Engineer to join Mission Systems Discipline Engineering Organization. This position will be located in Chantilly, VA.
Primary responsibilities of a candidate will include:
· SharePoint Administration, Development, and Data Automation
- Administer program SharePoint sites and lists, ensuring data integrity and adherence to defined processes.
- Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint-based applications, dashboards, and data models to support engineering and logistics decision-making.
- Create and maintain lists, libraries, workflows, Power Apps/Automate solutions, and program calendars to enable streamlined asset tracking and reporting.
- Oversee program SharePoint data structures (including data entry, validation, and exporting data for customer delivery and internal reporting).

Hardware and Material Tracking
- Track hardware and material owned by the programs and capital.
- Support inventory management: system material tracking/inventory; coordinate physical inventories at NG and customer sites with local customer representatives.
- Track Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
- Proactively track spare locations and statuses in conjunction with IPT leads to enable spares analysis, spares reporting, and positioning of spares for optimal system needs.
- Failure, Maintenance, and Repairs Tracking & Analysis
- Track and document failures, Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA), and spares status using SharePoint and related tools.
- Support analysis of failure and repair trends to improve sparing posture, optimize life-cycle support, and feed reliability/maintainability insights back to engineering.
- Establish and document calibration requirements for field systems/equipment and associated maintenance tasks in coordination with engineering teams.
- Perform or support maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers; capture results in logistics and maintenance documentation.

Shipments and Logistics Execution
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with NG Shipping and Receiving personnel, vendors, and customers.
- Ensure shipments are properly packaged and the correct documentation is submitted to the customer as required.
- Ensure equipment is properly stored at NG facilities after receipt.
- Maintain shipment and receipt records in SharePoint and associated tracking systems.

Procurement and RMA Support
- Execute program RMA actions for failures or repairs in coordination with GSC and program teams.
- Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing, tracking, and closure of RMA activities.
- Process Improvement
- Assist in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support concepts, documentation, and processes.
- Review and update maintenance and logistics procedures as processes evolve
- Evaluate existing logistics and asset-tracking processes for inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Work across the portfolio’s IPT leads to enhance procedures and best practices for hardware data tracking, spares analysis, and failure reporting.
- Design and maintain automated reports, dashboards, and metrics (e.g., failures, MTBF/MTTR indicators, spares posture) for PMO, engineering, and customer stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications for Logistics Engineer (T2)
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years with a Master’s degree; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and a strong aptitude for technology driven solutions such as collaboration site design, configuration, and support.
- Experience building, administering, and/or using SharePoint-based lists, workflows, or applications to support engineering, logistics, or operations.
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
- Detail oriented and able to follow and improve defined processes.
- Experience in the Logistician/Logistics Engineering field which includes working with US Government supply chain processes and shipping Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in accordance with U.S. government import/export requirements.
- Must be able to move and position objects weighing 30–50 lb.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Logistics Engineer (T3)
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master’s degree; 1 year with a PhD
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and a strong aptitude for technology driven solutions such as collaboration site design, configuration, and support.
- Demonstrated experience developing and/or administering SharePoint or similar platforms to support engineering/logistics workflows (e.g., list/database design, workflows, dashboards, or integrated apps).
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers, including the ability to translate technical and field data into clear logistics/maintenance insights.
- Detail oriented and able to follow and refine defined processes.
- Experience in the Logistician/Logistics Engineering field which includes working with US Government supply chain processes and shipping Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in accordance with U.S. government import/export requirements.
- Must be able to move and position objects weighing 30–50 lb.
Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- Experience with SharePoint
