Focusing on offshore and onshore logistics operations, this position will plan, coordinate, and execute the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel. The role will lead the logistics team and oversee all logistics aspects, including vessel, helicopter, and shorebase contracts and monitoring, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, timely and cost-effective deliveries, optimized cargo planning, and accurate logistics documentation and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute logistics operations for the transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel between onshore bases, warehouses, ports, and offshore units.
- Manage and oversee vessel contracts, ensuring effective day-to-day coordination, performance monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Manage and oversee helicopter contracts, ensuring safe and timely operations in line with company requirements.
- Manage and oversee shorebase contracts, monitoring performance and ensuring service quality and compliance.
- Lead the logistics team and all logistics activities, driving efficiency, cost optimization, and alignment with project and operational needs.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, customs regulations, import/export legislation, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Monitor freight movements (road, sea, and air) and ensure timely deliveries and collections to support operations.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, port authorities, and internal stakeholders to optimize logistics planning and execution.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, manifests, and customs clearance forms.
- Follow up on material requisitions, dispatches, returns, and cargo tracking using ERP systems and logistics software.
- Coordinate and optimize cargo consolidation and manifest planning to reduce freight costs and improve turnaround.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and preservation of materials in accordance with applicable standards and offshore requirements.
- Control documentation for hazardous materials (IMO/ADR/IATA) and ensure safe transport in compliance with regulations.
- Track inventory movements between locations and support warehouse activities when required.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, freight costs, delays, and delivery KPIs.
- Support the preparation of logistics procedures, manuals, and compliance reports.
- Assist in contractor performance evaluation and cost control initiatives within the logistics function.
- Participate in daily/weekly operations meetings to align logistics activities with planning and operational needs.
- Respond to operational challenges and emergencies, proposing mitigation measures and alternative logistics solutions.
- Coordinate crew change logistics when required, including travel, immigration, and accommodation arrangements.
- Provide logistics support for regulatory inspections or audits related to customs, cargo, and HSE.
Requirements
Education:
- Technical or university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
- Experience in logistics coordination, preferably in oil & gas.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, customs clearance, and offshore logistics operations.
