Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator, S.Korea is responsible for executing and coordinating day-to-day warehouse operations, physical inventory control, and import/export shipping workflows within South Korea. This individual acts as the operational backbone of the local supply chain—ensuring product quality control, regulatory labeling, and timely fulfillment in strict compliance with local medical device regulations (KGSP) and ZOLL standard operating procedures.
Essential Functions
Warehouse Inbound, Outbound & Quality Control (Approx. 80%)
- Execute daily physical warehouse operations including receiving, unboxing, staging, put-away, picking, packing, and shipment dispatch with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform incoming quality inspections, Korean regulatory labeling (MFDS 표시기재), and UDI barcode verification in strict compliance with Good Supply Practice (KGSP) standards.
- Ensure strict lot number and expiration date tracking to minimize inventory scrap and eliminate shipping discrepancies.
- Conduct weekly cycle counting and support annual full physical inventory counting aiming to achieve <1% discrepancy.
- Safely handle, pack, and store hazardous materials (predominantly lithium-ion battery units) adhering to DG (Dangerous Goods) and
- Hazmat shipping protocols.
- Maintain organized filing systems for inbound receipts, delivery notes, proof of deliveries (POD), and audit-ready regulatory documentation on a daily basis.
- Drive 5S principles, housekeeping, and physical maintenance across warehouse, staging, and pick/pack areas.
Customs Clearance & Freight Coordination (Approx. 20%)
- Coordinate international export and domestic shipping schedules with parcel carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and local freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare and verify export shipping documents (Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Airway Bills) with zero compliance discrepancies.
- Support import customs clearance workflows and resolve logistics transit bottlenecks in close coordination with the Operations Manager and external customs brokers.
- Maintain active tracking of shipments and communicate milestone updates to internal customer service and sales operations teams.
Operational Process Improvement
- Support ongoing SCM enhancement initiatives to streamline warehouse receiving and dispatch throughput.
- Continuously review and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and workflow standardization.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in warehouse logistics, shipping /receiving, or supply chain operations (candidates with solid hands-on experience or adaptable foundational skills are both encouraged to apply).
- Prior experience in medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or regulated temperature-controlled logistics is highly advantageous (KGSP familiarity preferred).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle experience preferred) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Understanding of Hazmat / Dangerous Goods (specifically Lithium batteries) handling and international freight documentation.
- Good Documentation Practice (GDP) is essential.
- Forklift certification/license is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
