Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting mission-critical construction projects through the efficient coordination of material transportation, shipment tracking, warehouse inventory management, and communication across internal and external stakeholders. This position plays a key role in ensuring that construction materials are delivered accurately and on time to support project schedules and operational requirements.

The Logistics Coordinator serves as a central point of contact between warehouses, job sites, carriers, vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and internal departments to minimize disruptions, resolve logistical challenges, and maintain the flow of materials across multiple project locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate transportation and delivery of construction materials between warehouses, vendors, and active job sites.
  • Schedule, monitor, and track inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Serve as the primary logistics contact for project managers, warehouse personnel, contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and transportation providers.
  • Monitor inventory levels across warehouse locations and support material replenishment activities.
  • Process purchase orders, transfer requests, shipping documents, and related logistics records.
  • Verify shipment accuracy, including quantities, documentation, and delivery timelines.
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, and potential issues to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Project Management teams to align material availability with project schedules.
  • Proactively identify and resolve transportation, supply chain, and delivery challenges to avoid project delays and operational disruptions.
  • Support dispatch functions, including route planning, driver coordination, and load assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations, company policies, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare logistics reports, maintain records, and assist with billing and freight-related documentation.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with carriers, vendors, subcontractors, and warehouse teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistical efficiency, cost control, and service delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in logistics coordination, transportation, warehouse operations, supply chain, construction operations, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical project environments preferred.
  • Experience coordinating multiple shipments and vendors in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of logistics, transportation, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel locally to warehouse and project locations as needed.
  • Ability to work in office, warehouse, and construction site environments.
