Illuminate USA is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Logistics Coordinator to support global logistics operations at our manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and efficient movement of materials and finished goods to support production and customer requirements. The Senior Logistics Coordinator serves as a key resource within the logistics organization, coordinating complex shipments, supporting cross-functional logistics initiatives, driving process improvements, and providing operational support across all levels of the logistics team. Additionally, this role serves as the primary backup to the Logistics Team Manager, helping ensure continuity of operations through effective communication, issue resolution, and workload coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment managing time-sensitive logistics activities.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee complex inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and minimal disruptions to operations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, freight providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure shipment schedules, documentation, and order requirements are accurately managed.
Monitor carrier performance and proactively resolve transportation, customs, and delivery expectations to maintain service levels.
Partner with internal and external warehouse teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and inventory movements, and material flow to support productions & job site requirements.
Support yard management operations by coordinating trailer movements, dock utilization, carrier scheduling, and yard efficiency to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
Serve as the Transportation Management System (TMS) Super User, providing system support, user training, troubleshooting, testing enhancements, and driving adoption of best practices.
Maintain accurate logistics records, shipping documentation, and compliance requirements while ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
Evaluate shipping requirements and recommend transportation solutions based on service, cost, and delivery requirements.
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve logistics
Lead and support logistics projects, process improvement initiatives, and operational priorities while serving as the primary backup to the Logistics Team Manager, coordinating daily activities, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring continuity of operations during manager/leader absence.
Communicate with suppliers to confirm shipment schedules, documentation accuracy, and order requirements.
Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to the Logistics Coordinators while promoting standardized processes and best practices across the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Additional logistics or supply chain certifications are a plus
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, import/export operations, or a related field. Experience in Carrier Management and in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Demonstrated experience coordinating complex shipments, resolving logistics issues, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including reporting and data analysis.
Experience with Transportation Management Systems(TMS), ERP systems, and logistics reporting tools preferred.
