What you will be expected to do:
Logistics & Transportation Coordination
- Coordinate dispatch and transportation of products to all designated shops, warehouses, and partners across Tanzania.
- Ensure transporters deliver goods on time and in full (OTIF) while maintaining product safety and integrity.
- Track shipments and maintain close follow-up with third-party transporters to ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate dispatch schedules between warehouse teams and transport providers to facilitate efficient last-mile delivery.
- Monitor transportation lead times and escalate delays or operational issues promptly.
- Coordinate route planning and optimization initiatives to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure proof of delivery (POD) documentation is properly submitted and filed.
Fleet Coordination & Monitoring
- Oversee monitoring and coordination of company fleet operations to ensure proper utilization and availability.
- Maintain fleet movement records, fuel consumption records, maintenance schedules, and service tracking.
- Coordinate company owned vehicles’ servicing, repairs, insurance renewals, and compliance documentation.
- Follow up on fleet incidents, breakdowns, and accident reporting processes.
- Coordinate implementation and monitoring of fleet control measures and cost optimization initiatives.
Vendor & Transporter Management
- Maintain good working relationships with transporters and logistics service providers.
- Monitor transporter performance and track key metrics including delivery timelines, damages, and compliance.
- Flag non-performance, delays, or service gaps for corrective action.
- Coordinate transporter contract management and documentation reviews in prtnership with Procurement and Finance teams.
- Assist in evaluating transporter performance and recommending improvements.
Reporting & Data Management
- Prepare weekly and monthly logistics and fleet performance reports.
- Maintain accurate logistics records, transporter trackers, and shipment status updates.
- Flag non-performance, delays, or service gaps for corrective action.
- Facilitate logistics data assessment to identify operational gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of logistics transactions and operational records.
Compliance & Operational Support
- Ensure transportation and fleet operations comply with company policies and safety standards.
- Facilitate audits and operational reviews by providing required logistics documentation and reports.
- Assist in implementing process improvements within logistics and fleet operations.
- Coordinate logistics data assessment to identify operational gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams during high-volume distribution periods and operational projects.
You might be a strong candidate if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation and Logistics, Statistics, or any Finance Related Field
- 2-3 years’ working experience in Transportation & Logistics management, Supply Chain Management and/or any related Field
- Demonstrates knowledge in contract management.
- Knowledge and working experience with a robust ERP system preferably S4HANA
- Ability to work comfortably with and maintain large volumes of data in excel.
- Ability to multi-task and address vying priorities.
- Goal-oriented and organized team player
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Skills Required
