Role
We are seeking a Logistics and Warehousing Supervisor to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all site warehousing, inventory management, and inbound/outbound logistics activities at the Thacker Pass Operation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable movement and storage of materials, equipment, and finished products that support construction, commissioning, and steady-state lithium production.
The Logistics and Warehousing Supervisor will lead all warehousing and logistics functions, including stores and parts warehousing (MRO and critical spares), bulk and packaged chemical reagents, finished goods warehousing, fulfillment activities, carrier management, export logistics, and coordination with third-party transload and terminal operators. The position ensures materials and products are received, stored, transferred, staged, and shipped safely, compliantly, and efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy and continuity of supply.
The role is based at our Thacker Pass location and reports to the Supply Chain Manager. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, vendor locations, or other locations may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including MRO stores, spare parts inventory, bulk and packaged chemical reagents, finished goods, and material staging areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records across all material categories, including bulk storage systems such as tanks, silos, and ISO containers.
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies as needed.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives, including min/max levels, reorder points, and critical spare parts strategies in collaboration with Supply Chain and Maintenance teams.
- Lead the safe receiving, inspection, storage, and handling of materials, equipment, and chemical reagents.
- Manage the picking, kitting, and staging of materials to support maintenance and operational work activities.
- Oversee finished goods warehousing, order fulfillment, staging, and outbound shipping activities.
- Coordinate shipment schedules and product readiness with Commercial, Logistics, and Warehouse teams.
- Ensure all packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation meet customer, regulatory, and export requirements.
- Manage inbound transportation of materials, equipment, and chemical reagents to the site.
- Coordinate outbound transportation of finished lithium products, including export logistics, containerization, documentation, and handoff to freight forwarders and carriers.
- Serve as the primary site liaison with third-party transload facilities, terminal operators, and logistics service providers.
- Monitor carrier and terminal performance against established safety, service, throughput, and cost metrics.
- Promote and enforce Lithium Americas’ safety-first culture throughout all warehousing and logistics activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable DOT, FMCSA, rail, hazardous materials, environmental, and export regulations.
- Oversee the safe storage, handling, and transfer of hazardous and bulk chemical materials in accordance with site procedures and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Identify warehousing and logistics risks and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Participate in incident investigations and support the development and execution of corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate warehouse and logistics transactions within ERP and logistics systems (SAP preferred).
- Ensure proper management of bills of landing, shipping records, export documentation, inventory records, and carrier invoices.
- Prepare and communicate reports on inventory accuracy, logistics performance, service levels, and operating costs.
- Lead, develop, and mentor warehouse, shipping and receiving, and logistics personnel, including workforce planning, training, performance management, and safety leadership.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and daily operating routines across warehouse and logistics functions.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, material control, and operational discipline.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to warehouse layout, material flow, logistics processes, and cost efficiency.
- Support the development, implementation, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain operations, preferably within mining, chemical processing, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory, lead, or team leadership role.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence, with strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of transportation operations, carrier management, freight coordination, inventory management, and applicable regulatory requirements, including hazardous materials transportation.
- Experience with export logistics, transload operations, terminal management, and coordination with third-party logistics providers.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred), transportation management systems (TMS), and other inventory or logistics management tools.
- Experience supporting large-scale industrial operations, including construction, commissioning, start-up, or operational readiness activities is preferred.

Currently, Lithium Americas is focused on advancing Thacker Pass, the largest-known lithium resource in North America, to production. Construction commenced in early 2023 and is expected to create 1,800 construction jobs and 500 permanent jobs during operations of its 40-year mine life.
