POSITION SUMMARY

To support the Supply Chain Management Team. This position is responsible for all logistics, incoming and outgoing. Direct responsibility for transportation and customs processes, providing customer service for shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products in accordance with federal and foreign regulations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Plan and coordinate all inbound/outbound shipments, domestic and international for small packages, palletized/crated, and units.
  • Prepare or help to obtain documents for air/ocean export shipments and import documents for distribution to brokerage operation and freight forwarders.
  • Coordinate and monitor freight forwarders, customs brokers and trucking vendors for inbound and outbound door-to-door international and domestic shipments. This includes LTL, FTL as well as FCL and LCL.
  • Obtain schedule b (or HTS) numbers for import/export commodities.
  • Accept, validate, and process transportation-movement requests. Coordinate intercompany shipments with other divisions.
  • Work with the intermodal Kelvion transportation vendors and Brokers to secure the most cost-efficient intermodal routes. 
  • Manage UPS / Fed Ex and other freight companies inbound and outbound.
  • Advise inbound and outbound routing instructions.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and follow up on all export / import activities.
  • File freight claims and monitor progress through conclusion.
  • Review freight invoices, work with the SCM team on freight cost reductions.
  • Team with warehouse management on stock movements between buildings. Work with other departments on outgoing / incoming freight / packages
  • Process shipments through the ERP system. 
  • Take pictures of RT & Rhino shipments, process orders through the ERP system.
  • All other duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

  • Language Skills: Fluent in English to read and comprehend written guidelines and instructions and perform basic verbal and written communication. Fluent in Spanish a plus.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Teams and ability to learn various functions assigned within the ERP (Syteline, SAP or other) manufacturing system.
  • Communications Skills: Ability to receive, listen, and understand in-coming messages (Teams and Telecom), verbal, and written communication from co-workers, outside transportation firms and supplier documentation.
  • Reasoning: Ability to apply general rules to determine resolutions of requests and be able to process numbers as needed to put away and pull material per transaction requirements.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years prior experience in shipping, inventory control, material handling, and/or receiving in a manufacturing / factory environment preferred.
  • Must be able to safely and efficiently operate turret and stand up/reach forklifts in narrow aisle/locations safely and productively. 
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Basic math and reading skills.

Skills Required
