Job Description

Onsite work schedule:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday – 5a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Schedule is subject to fluctuate based on business needs Monday - Sunday

Job Title:

  • Logistics Administrator

Job summary:

This position is responsible for receiving, storing, shipping, issuing and delivering materials, supplies, merchandise and packages to the production, operation and administrative departments within the company.
Acts as a work leader for shipping and receiving and warehouse functions within the facility.
Fulfills the job duties of a Logistics Technician I & II as required.
This position may also be responsible for selecting, orienting and monitoring the performance of independent contract carriers and maintaining good business relationships with them.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Coordination: Performs work leader duties for shipping, receiving and warehouse functions to achieve overall objectives of the organization. Coordinates the daily work routine of receiving and warehouse operations, including procedure compliance and material handling priorities. Monitors the quality of reports prepared by all technicians, including piece weights and weight verification calculations.
  • Safety/Problem Solving: Performs good housekeeping techniques at the job site areas, properly handles paper waste and debris, and the removal of all potential safety hazards from the general area. Maintains proficiency in the safe and efficient use of company equipment required to carry out job functions. Provides new associate orientation for all new associates and trains them in their duties to include knowledge of safety practices. Investigates any problems or errors detected or suspected in these reports or other receiving documents. Responds to inquiries from other departments regarding the receipt of information on a priority basis.
  • Delivery: Ensures all deliveries are made in accordance with contract terms. Provides accurate information of route delivery, including time and quality of delivery and any independent contract carrier issues. Performs shipping scheduling and manages daily work assignments to prioritize loads and ensure accuracy for shipment to USPS. Implement and maintain all components of the Postage Payment Elective Agreement (PPE) to comply with Postal regulations in the shipping of standard mail. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Associate's Degree (Preferred)

Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years Relevant Experience (Required)

Certifications & Licensures:

  • Preferred Certifications/Licensures: (Powered Industrial Truck Certification)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of USPS shipping requirements and transportation, production & receiving procedures.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language.

Equipment and Software Utilized:

  • Proficient in computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite and various Warehouse/Transportation/Inventory systems.
  • Forklift
  • Oracle Transportation System

Communication and Contacts:

  • Communicate with other production team members.

Decision Making:

  • Determines daily work assignments and prioritizes activities to meet USPS requirements.
  • Investigates and responds to inquiries regarding receipt of and shipment of goods.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to carry up to 25lbs, push and pull up to 25lbs, twist, stand, walk, reach, and grip/grasp throughout the shift. Employees are also required to lift up to 25lbs, squat, and kneel occasionally. Lastly, employees are required to have the ability to work in a fast paced environment (varying upon equipment).

Additional Information

$18.00 - $22.00 Hourly - The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
