Purpose and Scope:
We are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Logistics expert. As a successful candidate, the Logistic Manager demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management and possess knowledge of logistic and transportation procedures, CTM (Control Tower Management), carrier/service providers including SSL (Steamship-line), brokerage and forwarders’ partners management.
The familiarity with safety protocols and legal regulations will ensure the smooth and secure handling of all shipments.
In this role, the Logistic Manager will be responsible for developing a streamlined and cost-efficient inbound and outbound freight logistics, optimizing the efficiency of the transportation operations for budgetary accuracy and adherence.
Attention to detail and strategic planning skills will be crucial in ensuring that all the inbound and outbound shipments are promptly received/delivered, safely handled, and cost-effective.
Beyond supporting the actual Finish Goods shipping operations, the Logistic Manager is dedicated to creating an outstanding customer experience by providing reliable carrier solutions, multiple delivery options and excellent visibility.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, implementing and managing transportation and distribution strategy, to ensure secure, accurate, timely and productive transportation processes
- Identify freight savings opportunities, implement process changes, measure and report results
- Identify transportation issues/problems and implement resolutions in a timely fashion
- Display a working knowledge of all carriers’ rates and services and leverage knowledge to properly support the business
- Hold service providers accountable for performance by challenging appropriately and effectively
- Perform intermediate cost and process analysis and leverage results to make key decisions; manage costs in alignment with internal budgets and financial objectives
- Support international business growth by establishing new and creative delivery solutions in an ever-changing transportation/freight environment climate
- Serve as the primary logistics contact for Dexcom Malaysia regarding all carrier related business needs (e.g. on time delivery performance measurement, service issues, reporting, data analysis, etc.)
- Lead meetings with the cross functional business partners and service providers to drive results
- Develop integrated expenses analyses, reports and presentations to identify exceptions and trends
- Lead process improvements within transportation, warehouse and DC (Distribution Centre) operations to support overall network strategy
- Support IT system development and implementation as needed
- Make a positive impact on the business by keeping expense management and customer experience at the forefront of decision making
- Work with senior management in evaluating and selecting service providers
- SME for internal and external logistic and transportation related audit, making sure all relevant documentation is properly maintained
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), track metrics, input and reporting of key performance measures
- Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve transportation efficiency without compromising quality
- Prepare and present regular reports on manufacturing performance, including metrics and areas for improvement, to leadership team
- Manage local and international shipments by utilizing a matrix of customs brokers and international service providers
Qualification and Experiences:
- Have a university degree in an operation process, ideally in supply chain logistic and transportation, warehouse operation etc
- 7-10 years of experience with related management experience with previous experience in operations and transportation
- Operational experience in network strategy and risk management
- Management/supervisory experience, i.e. in building and drive teams
- Knowledge of logistics and shipping procedures and documents
- Experienced and capable of establishing written standard operating procedures, technical reports, maintenance procedures, and training details
- Experienced in strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
- Experienced in direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
- Experienced in liaise and negotiate with carrier/service providers, brokerage, forwarders etc
