Job DescriptionJob Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Manager with 3-4 years of experience in supply chain and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing transportation, warehousing, inventory movement, vendor coordination, and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products.
The role requires strong organizational skills, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, transporters, and customers to maintain efficient logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Transportation Management
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of materials/products as per business requirements.
- Manage transportation partners and logistics service providers to optimize delivery performance.
- Track shipments and resolve transportation-related issues proactively.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee inventory movement and storage activities across warehouses and project locations.
- Ensure accurate stock records and inventory reconciliation.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain proper material handling and storage practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Build and maintain relationships with logistics vendors, transporters, and suppliers.
- Negotiate transportation rates and service agreements to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Coordinate with procurement, operations, production, and project teams for smooth material flow.
- Address and resolve delivery delays, shortages, and logistics-related challenges.
Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency, reduce lead times, and lower operational costs.
- Develop and implement logistics processes, SOPs, and best practices.
- Monitor logistics KPIs and recommend corrective actions for performance improvement.
- Support digitalization and automation initiatives within logistics functions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accurate preparation and maintenance of shipping documents, invoices, challans, and transport records.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Support audits by providing required logistics and inventory documentation.
- Ensure proper record-keeping of dispatches, deliveries, and inventory transactions.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, transportation costs, and inventory status.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Present operational updates and recommendations to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
- Experience managing vendors, freight partners, and inventory operations.
- Understanding of logistics processes, inventory management, and transportation planning.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics operations.
- Inventory control and warehouse management expertise.
- Transportation and fleet coordination experience.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite.
- Data analysis and reporting capabilities.
