Now Hiring Location Manager – Westport, CT

At First Student, our Location Managers are a constant reflection of our company’s commitment to safety and customer service. The Location Manager is responsible for providing operational oversight, day-to-day management, and directly supervising staff and financial performance at our Westport location.

Salary Range: $85,000 to $105,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications)

Location Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manages operational expenses and explains budget variances

  • Ensures the safe and timely transportation of passengers

  • Manages injury and collision claims

  • Ensures safety practices and applicable regulations are obeyed by all employees

  • Ensures facilities and buses are maintained to First Student safety and environmental standards

  • Sets accurate schedules for routes, minimizing drive times and mileage while adhering to contractual and regulatory mandates

  • Provides accurate and timely operational and financial reporting as requested by AGM and/or finance

  • Ensures purchases follow company processes and policies

  • Drives employee engagement and recognition

  • Maintains positive relationships with school officials, parents, and the community

  • Recruits, trains, and develops location employees to support company initiatives and location/region goals

  • Ensures compliance with all company, local, state, and federal regulations

  • Administers and executes terms of collective bargaining agreements (as applicable)

Location Manager Experience and Skills Required:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 3 years management experience (preferably 5+ years of operations experience)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Business background in financial, strategic, and/or organizational analysis

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with payroll/timekeeping systems preferred
