Join Our Local Travel Nursing Team!

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) in the Penasco, NM area and across New Mexico. We are seeking experienced Travel RNs to provide high-acuity patient care with flexible scheduling and ongoing contract opportunities across multiple service areas.

This role is a 1099 contract opportunity, with care being provided at the patient’s residence. Patients range from high acuity to those who only need basic medical management. Once our patients are accepted into the program, there is no expiration for this benefit, which allows our team of caregivers to build lasting relationships with their patients for years to come.

Shifts: Multiple shifts available. Minimum of three (3) 12-hour shifts per week. Perfect for someone looking for Fulltime.

Requirements:

  • Execute physician prescribed plans of care.
  • Complete compliant documentation of the care provided in the system of record.
  • Manage and administer prescribed medication, treatment, and therapies.
  • Conduct patient assessments, coordination of care.
  • Perform various activities associated with daily living.
  • Monitor vitals and GI intake and output.
  • Assess skin integrity and administer wound care.
  • Monitor for changes in the patient’s condition such as weight loss/gain, self-care abilities, and indicators of disease progression.
  • Communicate with family members, physicians, case managers, and other prescribed individuals regarding the health of the patients.
  • Provide education and training to the patient, their family, and/or the Home Health Aide.
  • Work with patients to be done one-on-one in the patients home to provide for a comfortable environment.
  • Collaborate with and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and Personal Care Attendants.
  • Perform other personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs.

Additional Position Details:

    Position Details:

  • Minimum of three (3) 12-hour shifts per week - Up to 60 depending on the need
  • 6-week contract assignments
  • $65/hour + mileage reimbursement
  • Schedules provided in 6-week increments
  • Opportunity to extend every 6 weeks based on operational needs
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided for qualifying travel assignments:
  • Mileage begins after 50 one-way miles. $0.41 per mile for the first 500 miles, $0.21 per mile after 500 miles.

  • Travel & Scheduling Expectations:

  • This position offers a higher pay rate because it requires full flexibility and availability to support staffing needs across various locations throughout New Mexico.
  • Travel nurses may be assigned to multiple patients and communities during a contract period, including travel between regions based on operational needs and patient coverage demands.
  • Schedules may include weekdays, weekends, day shifts, nights, and holidays.
  • Weekly schedules may vary and are not guaranteed to remain consistent
  • Assignments are based on areas with the greatest patient care need
  • Travel nurses do not maintain permanent patient assignments
  • Nurses may temporarily support patient homes until permanent coverage is secured, then rotate to a different assignment as needed

  • Transition Opportunity:

  • If travel nursing demand decreases, contractors may have the opportunity to transition into a standard 1099 nursing role, including:
  • Picking up high-acuity shifts
  • Managing a lower-acuity caseload
  • Please note: Pay rate and mileage structure may change upon transition from the travel contract role.
