JOB SUMMARY 

The loader is responsible for ensuring windows are removed from the production line, loaded in carts as needed and moved to the designated area in a timely manner. This position requires accuracy in loading and adherence to safety policies. The loader follows warehouse instructions for building loads and works to minimize damage whenever possible. It is essential that all windows are loaded completely and securely blocked to ensure transit. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Comply with Westlake Safety Policies  

  • Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility 

  • Provide safety leadership in promoting and creating a zero-injury safety culture. 

  • Remove windows from the production line 

  • Report any damaged window to the Supervisor or Lead immediately. 

  • Perform work in a safe and timely manner. 

  • Install sashes onto all items (windows), including sash tops and clips. 

  • Maintain housekeeping of production floor. 

  • Manually lift and move the window to the designated area, loading carts if it's necessary for their movement, etc. 

  • Other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Lead. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Basic skills such as inspection, math and reading. 

  • Ability to work in a team environment. 

  • Be dependable and hard worker. 

  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions. 

  • Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.  

  • Must be able to multi-task. 

  • Must be able to work independently and use good judgment. 

  • Ability to maintain attention to detail. 

  • Ability to hear audible noises. 

  • Ability to distinguish basic colors. 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred) 

  • Manufacturing/Warehouse 1 year (Preferred) 

  

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The employee should possess the ability to: 

  • Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or out. 

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable. 

  • Prolong standing for up to 12 hours performing shift work or in a stationary position. 

  • Complete repetitive movements. 

  • Bend or twist.  

  • Wear all the required personal protective equipment. 

  • Work in constant noise above 85 decibels. 

  • Handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls. 

  • Lift/move up to 65 pounds. 

  • Remove or replace items up to 60 pounds. 

  • Ascend or descend stairs.
