Job Description

Fairway Home Mortgage is seeking a Loan Officer Assistant to join our team in West Saint Paul, MN.

This is an in-office position that provides administrative, operational, and customer service support throughout the mortgage loan process. The role works closely with Loan Officers, customers, real estate professionals, and internal teams to help ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and progressing efficiently toward closing.

The position also provides marketing and social media support to help increase local visibility and support branch outreach efforts.

Loan Officer Support:

• Prepare loan packages by collecting required documentation and information from customers.
• Review loan files for completeness and accuracy.
• Follow up on missing documentation and outstanding conditions.
• Assist with escrow accounts, inspections, appraisals, and insurance requirements.
• Pre-qualify customers using Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS).
• Collaborate with processors, escrow officers, and other parties involved in the loan process to help facilitate closings.
• Coordinate and schedule loan closings.

Customer Service:

• Respond to general customer inquiries regarding loan products, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate with customers, real estate agents, and title companies regarding loan status and progress.
• Provide timely and professional support throughout the loan process.

Marketing & Outreach:

• Assist with branch marketing initiatives, including email, direct mail, social media, and other outreach efforts.
• Support the development and coordination of social media content and marketing activities.
• Assist with efforts to increase awareness and visibility of the branch within the local community.
• Provide general administrative support for branch marketing and outreach activities.

General Support:

• Maintain Loan Officer databases, records, and documentation.
• Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and available loan products.
• Perform administrative functions, including email correspondence, phone communication, scheduling, and document management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• 1+ years of related experience.
• 1+ years of mortgage lending or related sales experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending processes, procedures, and regulations.
• Knowledge of Encompass or a similar loan origination system.
• Knowledge of loan programs, including Conventional, FHA, USDA, and VA.
• Knowledge of mortgage-related terminology, including escrow, taxes, closing documents, and insurance.
• Experience with or knowledge of marketing and social media.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.

Starting pay ranges from $xx – $xx per hour, plus eligibility for the branch bonus program. Individual wages are based on relevant experience and branch profitability.
