Job Descriptionour incredible Livestock Caretaker plays a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for guests by ensuring the well-being of the animals at our Petting Farm. This hands-on position involves caring for a variety of livestock while engaging with guests to provide an educational and enjoyable experience.
As a Livestock Caretaker, you will:
- Completing the daily opening and closing procedures of the Petting Farm
- Taking care of all animals at the petting farm
- Daily cleaning of all animal pens
- Twice daily feeding and watering of all animals at petting farm
- Ability to identify injured or sick animals and report to Livestock Manager
- Performing pony rides daily for resort guests
- Interacting with resort guests, teaching them about the animals and the petting farm procedures
- Responsible for enforcing safety rules and procedures with resort guests
- Interacting with, handling, brushing, leading all animals at petting farm
- Responsible for keeping work and guest areas neat and clean
- Help with inventory of food and livestock
- Loading and unloading 50lb bags of feed and hay bales for animals
- Knowledge of livestock, and ability to work well with others, as well as independently
- Enthusiasm, energy, drive, job devotion, and personal ambition
- Participating in certain special events
