We’re seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join the Live QA Team at Cloud Imperium Games in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate for this role will have an encyclopedic knowledge of Star Citizen and an operational understanding of issues currently impacting the game on Live and PTU.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of Star Citizen in all environments, especially from the end users’ perspective. You will collaborate with other stakeholders to improve the overall experience of Star Citizen.

We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. What do our Live QA Specialists do?
- Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Identify, document, and track internal and player reported issues through Issue Council using bug tracking tools (Jira)
- Collaborate closely with other stakeholders to understand features and functionalities.
- Provide clear and concise feedback on Star Citizen's many gameplay loops and address areas of improvement.
- Participating in team meetings, contributing to discussions on the state of Star Citizen.
What would we expect from our Live QA Specialist?
- Encyclopedic knowledge of Star Citizen.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willing to be flexible on schedule during peak play periods and during game updates.
