Job Description:

Job Summary

We are looking to hire a Litigation Paralegal with excellent communication skills and the ability to gather, organize, and manage complex information. As a member of MPS’ Legal department, this person will work closely with other team members and collaborate with MPS’ internal stakeholders, engineering, product, and business groups to support all aspects of litigation and administrative proceedings.  

Responsibilities Include

  • Support all phases of litigation including preliminary investigation and research, discovery, pretrial and trial.

  • Manage, organize, and maintain litigation related files.

  • Use legal research platforms and databases to gather case and docket information.

  • Collaborate with outside counsel on collection, preparation, and production of documents.

  • Assist with calendaring and tracking case deadlines.

  • Create and customize spreadsheets for collection and tracking of records and data. 

  • Coordinate with outside counsel, witnesses, and experts on various matters.

  • Manage legal spend and case budgets.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a field of law or related field (completion of a certificate program in paralegal studies is a plus).

  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting attorneys, with at least 1-year of in-house experience.

  • Experience in patent litigation and other patent related administrative proceedings is a plus.

  • Experience researching case and docket information and managing discovery by utilizing e-discovery platforms.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and effective organization of complex and voluminous data.

  • Ability to shift priorities and handle multiple, competing tasks.

  • Strong organization, problem solving, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Passion for personal accountability and setting high standards is essential for success.

Preferred Experience
This role will focus primarily on e-discovery and IP litigation support. In addition to the requirements listed above, qualified candidates should ideally have:

  • 4+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a strong focus on e-discovery and IP litigation.

  • Significant hands-on experience using e-discovery platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, Everlaw, or similar tools.

  • Experience developing and refining e-discovery search terms, working with vendors to run searches, and providing review guidance.

  • Experience drafting, issuing, and tracking litigation holds.

  • Hands-on experience preparing document productions and privilege logs.

  • Experience reviewing and editing pleadings and summarizing depositions and pleadings.

  • Strong experience with case scheduling and deadline calendaring, particularly for federal court matters.

  • Federal court experience is a strong plus.

  • Experience supporting large, complex litigation matters in a large law firm or corporate legal department.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The hourly rate for this position is $60 - $70.
