The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own a docket of civil defense matters from the opening pleadings through trial, with a high degree of independence. The work blends written advocacy, witness examination and courtroom appearances, with real chances to participate in trials. Openings are available at both senior and junior levels.

- Steer each matter through its whole life, from early pleadings and scheduling orders to discovery, motion practice, trial preparation and trial.
- Draft and answer written discovery requests.
- Prepare and argue motions before the court.
- Examine and prepare witnesses at deposition, including subject-matter experts.
- Visit sites and travel around California for hearings and depositions.
- Act as lead or supporting trial counsel in the courtroom.
- Liaise with claims professionals, outside experts and clients while exercising sound independent judgment.
- Partner with legal support staff in a relaxed, collegial office.
