Linux/Unix Operations / Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description
As a member of our Technology Operations team, your initiative and creative problem-solving will help propel global innovation in technology and business. Working with a team of motivated collaborators, you'll develop and implement strategic technology solutions, ensuring the successful integration of network system and applications servers into existing and new technology infrastructures. You'll play a key role in the care and support of customers, including proactive incident monitoring. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• Advanced knowledge in infrastructure projects, operations systems, and data analytics
• Understanding of technology offerings and businesses supported
• Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot, and deliver strategic solutions to clients
• Genuine interest in continuous feedback, learning, and growth opportunities
• Effective collaboration and communication to achieve common goals and maintain a company standard of excellence
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills

Job Responsibilities
• Act as primary customer interface for day to day issues and queries
• Responsible for the incident, problem, change management, risk, vendor and client relationship, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management and service evolution functions for the Infrastructure
• Develop and support routine operational activities with automation - Deep understanding and knowledge of Ansible required.
• Lead root cause analysis meetings as part of process improvement
• Work closely with peer teams to deliver high availability and optimum performance for customers
• Take part in Infrastructure resiliency automation and executions
• Responsible for coaching and mentoring team members
• Learning and facilitating new technologies
• Work closely with customers to drive the system stability programs
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Strong knowledge and experience on Linux operating system - RHEL-6, 7, 8 and 9.
• Good understanding and Demonstration on Linux performance tools and debugging.
• Deep Knowledge on VCS and RHEL Clustering, Web, load balancing, tools and Linux Patching and risk management.
• Fluency in at least one programming language Python or shell scripts.
• Deep proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Network level understanding
• Splunk and Grafana dashboard creation skills
• Understanding of Oracle, Sybase and other Databases
• Monitoring Tolls such as Tivoli, Prometheus and Geneos
