The Line Producer will support QVC and HSN, and lead our live shows. Under the general direction of the Manager Line Producers, you will be responsible for on-air show execution and optimization of airtime and product sales.
Where You'll Work
- This role is onsite and will require you to work from our West Chester, PA headquarters. Relocation assistance not available for this role.
- Important note: You must be available to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift, and both weekdays and weekends. This team has a rotating schedule based on business need.
What You'll Do
Lead the Live Show
- Make decisions to maximize sales.
- You will execute Category Production strategy, along with PAL Basics, and lead the Broadcast Team in carrying out these objectives.
- Provide real time feedback to team supervisors, Hosts and guests.
- Direct all elements of the show.
- Problem-solve on the fly, be well prepared, organized, and a good communicator.
- Work with the Hosts to position the show and all elements of the show.
- Using support systems (Robb Jr., Active Scoreboard, Tableau) observe and capture what makes caller volumes increase.
- Tease and promote upcoming shows, products, guests, and events.
- Monitor the energy level of the show.
- Make decisions to create and increase viewership. Make the live show as "watchable" as possible.
Preproduction and Planning
- You will map out shifts – Read QBIS, check PALs for quantity, ability to execute, and accuracy. Identify any PAL scripting issues and take appropriate action.
- Read email and show recaps for ideas on what worked, what was attempted, what needs to happen.
- Look for opportunities (including products) that would improve our on-air execution.
- Anticipate and proactively resolve problems and challenges.
- Strategize product presentations with the Hosts, CP's, AP's, Category Production Managers, Planners, Guests, vendors and Control Room. Identify execution of key items within the shift. Call for and lead Production Meetings. Solicit input from other teams. Challenge and delegate tasks, with follow-up and next action steps.
Follow up
- You will complete Recaps, with accountable next action steps.
- Communicate; through show recaps, what makes caller volumes increase.
- Follow up by email to address production issues that arise.
- Support the team with feedback for their shift. Provide coaching and feedback for the supervisors and the Hosts.
What You'll Bring
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
- Foundational QVC or HSN organizational knowledge is extremely beneficial.
- Experience: Five years live Broadcasting experience
- Background in Electronic Retailing beneficial.
- Solid knowledge of live Television Production, basic understanding of Marketing and Sales.
- Understanding of TV Sales strategy and the importance of planning.
