About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Line Leader to support our manufacturing operations at our Semiconductor facility in Johor, Malaysia. This role is responsible for leading daily production activities on the assigned line to ensure achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.

The Line Leader will provide hands on leadership to operators and technicians, ensure compliance with standard processes, and drive team performance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This is an ideal role for someone with strong shop-floor leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Location: Onsite - Johor Bahru.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations:

  • Coordinate daily production activities on the assigned line to meet output, quality, and delivery goals..

  • Execute daily production schedules based on priorities defined by the Production Supervisor or Manager.

  • Monitor line performance, equipment status, and material availability.

  • Ensure proper execution of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality requirements.

  • Support new product introductions and changes by coordinating line readiness and team communication.

Team Leadership:

  • Train technicians on work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards.

  • Provide basic on the job guidance and coaching to team members to improve performance and skills.

  • Track attendance, task coverage, and basic training matrix completion.

  • Escalate manpower shortages, skill gaps, or performance concerns to the supervisor..

  • Support line balancing and manpower flexibility through effective multi skill deployment.

  • Support adhoc activities when required.

Quality, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedure, Electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedure, cleanroom procedure, and company policies.

  • Monitor product quality on the line and ensure immediate containment and escalation of defects.

  • Support root cause investigations by providing accurate information and first level analysis.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area in line with 5S standards.

Communication & Coordination

  • Participate in daily production meetings and shift handovers at production floor.

  • Communicate production status, issues, and priorities clearly to Technicians.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and workflow efficiency.

  • Support Lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, standard work, and waste reduction.

  • Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions on the line

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably semiconductor or high-tech industry)

  • Prior experience as a Senior Technician, Line Leader, or Team Lead is an advantage

  • Strong understanding of production processes, SOPs, and quality standards

  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Willing to work 3 rotating shifts
