We are looking for a LIMS Associate to join our Automation team in support of clinical patient testing in our high-throughput CLIA lab. The LIMS Associate will be responsible for (1) Development of new, and improvement of existing, BTO LIMS tools to support rapid scaling of our clinical lab, (2) Working closely with the clinical lab to identify quality-oriented changes which enhance precision of laboratory data and decrease pain points, (3) Troubleshooting, investigating, and resolving quality events in a timely manner in cooperation with members of many different teams.
This role will help to build upon the strong technology and execution found at BTO. This is considered an onsite role at our Union City lab, with flexibility to work from home or at our Menlo Park site when applicable.
Responsibilities:
- Manage existing LIMS workflows, their operations, lifecycle and data
- Monitor, troubleshooting, and correct systems and software technical issues (e.g. resolving bugs and LIMS outages)
- Triage & escalate unresolved technical issues to appropriate team members
- Collaborate with SMEs to design & implement LIMS workflows & to support new assay launches
- Network with internal stakeholders to develop new ideas and technologies
- Develop and maintain relevant technical documentation (SOPs, Policies, etc.) for use of BTO’s LIMS systems.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant corporate and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software or Information Systems, Quantitative Life Sciences or equivalent
- 1+ Years of Python development experience
- 1-3 Years Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams across CLIA, R&D, Process Engineering, Software Engineering, and Bioinformatics
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose basic technical issues
- Experience with Linux environments (Redhat/Ubuntu)
- Experience developing scripting solutions to automation problems, especially in a fast paced/agile setting
- Ability to learn and interface with new APIs and hardware integrations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work flexibly and well under given timeframes
- Highly organized, strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creative problem-solver that finds a way to get things done
- Enjoy a wide variety of daily tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
Nice-To-Haves:
- Experience with Clarity LIMS (Especially automations)
- Experience with NGS and bench work
- Experience with Django, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Jupyter Notebooks
- Experience working in CLIA Lab, medical device, or pharma
- Experience with data analysis using Python, SQL, or Excel
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and related regulations (CFR 21 Part 11, ISO 13485, etc)

At BillionToOne, we are proud to offer a combination of a (1) base pay range (actual amount offered is based on experience and salary/equity options split that the candidate chooses), (2) generous equity options offering, (3) corporate bonus program, on top of (4) industry leading company benefits (free healthcare options, 401k match, very generous fully paid parental leave, etc.).
For this position, the base pay range is: $71,400-$81,600 per year.
