  • Develop and review detailed lifting plans and method statements for all critical and non-critical lifts.
  • Conduct site surveys and risk assessments prior to lifting operations.
  • Ensure all lifting operations comply with relevant local and international standards (e.g., LOLER, BS7121, ASME, ISO).
  • Select appropriate lifting equipment (cranes, slings, shackles, spreader beams, etc.) according to load characteristics and site conditions.
  • Liaise with site supervisors, crane operators, riggers, and safety personnel to coordinate lifting activities.
  • Supervise lifting operations to ensure safe practices are followed.
  • Inspect lifting equipment and lifting points for compliance and suitability.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and training related to lifting operations and safety.
  • Maintain proper documentation including lifting plans, equipment certifications, and inspection records.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and incident investigations involving lifting operations.
  • Recommend corrective actions and improvements for lifting processes.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Certification in Lifting Engineering or Appointed Person (e.g., OPITO, LEEA, or equivalent).

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in lifting operations in construction, oil & gas, or heavy industry.

  • Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging techniques, and industry safety standards.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD or other drafting software to prepare lifting plans (preferred).

  • Good communication and leadership skills.



Skills Required
