Focus of the Role
The Lifecycle Manager ensures that Government Managed Platforms (GMP) technology assets are managed efficiently, securely, and in alignment with both Telstra’s and Government clients’ strategic objectives. This role is critical to maintaining service excellence, supporting digital transformation, and enabling the secure delivery of essential government services.
Candidates must be Australian Citizens and have at least a current Baseline or NV1 clearance minimum to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance.

What You’ll Do
- Asset Lifecycle: Manage end-to-end lifecycle of platform assets, ensuring security and compliance.
- Licensing & Renewals: Oversee licensing, renewals, budgeting, and vendor engagement for cost efficiency.
- Project & Financials: Prepare funding proposals, manage asset capitalization, and report on spend.
- Data Centre Ops: Coordinate hardware installs, cabling, relocations, and decommissioning.
- Inventory & Config: Maintain accurate asset records in the relevant asset database tools and ensure compliance.
- Change & Incidents: Support change processes, notify customers, and resolve device/cabling faults.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Manage Managed Service Network Gateway (MSNG) activities, access permissions, and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) room coordination.
- Automation & Improvement: Drive automation using tools like Jira for workflows and reporting.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure policy adherence and produce license/asset reports.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams for seamless lifecycle management and innovation.
About You
- Hold Baseline or NV1 Security Clearance
- Demonstrated experience in technology lifecycle management within a secure or regulated environment, preferably supporting government or critical infrastructure clients.
- Strong understanding of asset management frameworks, ITIL practices, and compliance requirements for government platforms.
- Proficiency in asset inventory, project management, and financial tracking.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with data centre operations, hardware/software refresh cycles, and vendor management.
- Experience with change management, incident response, and reporting in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and upholding the highest standards of security and service delivery.
