Who You Are:

We are seeking a skilled Life Enrichment Coordinator with a strong positive attitude toward customer service. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.


Position Summary:

The Life Enrichment Coordinator is primarily responsible for the development, organization, coordination and implementation of comprehensive services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident. He/she shall manage the areas of resident and staff relations and will be responsible for implementing and supervising programs and activities for residents in the Independent Living Facility. Associate must be able to work in a 24 hour operation.


Accountabilities:

  • Implement and supervise designated programs and activities for the Independent Living facility, engaging speakers, entertainers, community outreach groups, and serves as liaison between dining services and operations departments regarding set-up and clean-up of resident activities.
  • Plan and produce the monthly calendar, newsletter and weekly updates, publicizing programs for residents and staff.
  • Recruit, onboard and coordinate volunteers.
  • Establish and maintain acceptable record keeping practices and attend scheduled in-services and training, as required.
  • Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.
  • Develop, implement and act in accordance with department and community policies.
  • Is “on-call” status during time away from work, such as after working hours or during days off. Also during critical operating issues and during disaster emergencies such as: snow, ice storms, fire, tornados, floods or as needed by the CEO.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  1. Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.
  2. College graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  3. Position requires a minimum of one-year experience in activity planning, preferably in a health care environment.
