White Oak Manor Waxhaw is looking for a Life Enrichment Assistant that wants to enrich the lives of our residents/patients by promoting physical, mental and psychosocial well-being for those within our care. Our Life Enrichment Department is looking for the right person to join our team and want to encourage you to apply here!
The ideal candidate is flexible and innovative with a strong understanding of the physiological changes and resulting needs of the aging population. Must have patience, empathy, excellence in customer service, and time managing skills. Must relate professionally with residents, staff, family members, visitors, and officials. Must provide a positive attitude, with friendly and approachable mannerisms.
A snapshot of duties include meeting with all patients/residents to determine program needs. Contribute to plan of care conferences. Assist with design, post and maintain attractive bulletin boards and calendars of scheduled activities. Assist with 1:1 activities (manicures/polish, reading, etc.) and conduct group activities (bingo, concerts, parties, etc.). Assist residents to and from activities. Keep accurate attendance and participation records of each activity and evaluate the programs' effectiveness and degree of resident involvement. Documentation is accurate and current. Assist with the Residents Council and promote good public relations within and outside the facility. Set up decorations for seasonal holidays. This is a hand-on position that requires tasks throughout the entire facility.
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED and the ability to work effectively with elderly patients and residents or an educational background sufficient to carry out a quality program as designated by the Life Enrichment Director. Must demonstrate genuine enthusiasm, a self-motivated and positive personality, and a willingness to learn new ideas and skills. A good sense of humor, patience, strong organizational skills, assertiveness, and conscientiousness are essential. The role requires working collaboratively with partners, family members, and the community while maintaining a professional appearance. Flexibility with work hours, including evenings and weekends, is also necessary to ensure programs and services are consistently provided.
⏰ Schedule : part-time day shift may require pre-planned evenings/weekend days
