Lettings and Procurement Manager
Location: Basingstoke
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Salary: £50,000 DOE, plus £4,000 car allowance!
Mears Housing Management Division in Basingstoke provide accommodation to essential British Government workers. We source properties from the private rental market, work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure accommodation meets requirements and we manage all issues, repairs and maintenance throughout the lifetime of an occupant’s stay.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Lettings & Procurement Manager to develop, implement, and lead the sales strategy for our operations within the private rental sector. The role involves driving the sales team to meet KPIs, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and creating a culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have strong lettings experience, commercial expertise, and the ability to motivate and manage a team. Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the sales team to meet and exceed performance targets and KPIs
- Develop and implement a strategic sales approach aligned with contractual obligations and business goals
- Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the lettings and procurement process
- Provide effective line management to a team of office-based and remote Property Advisors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and commercial best practices
- Monitor team performance against KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating success
- Conduct regular performance appraisals, set clear objectives, and ensure accountability across the team
- Collaborate with other departments to foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and high performance
- Deliver constructive feedback and coaching to support individual and team development
- Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction within the private rental sector
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members as required
Role Criteria
- Experience in the above role responsibilities
- Knowledge and understanding of great customer service Lettings experience
- Experience of leading a sales team
- Experience of team building through motivating and positive culture setting
- Leadership and management skills including understanding of how to develop others, understanding of effective performance management techniques and understanding of how to motivate individuals and teams
- Ability to build excellent relationships with professional partners through advanced relationship management skills including diplomacy
- Decisive decision-making skills
- Ability to autonomously manage a busy workload with conflicting priorities
- Ability to understand differing cultures and champion EDI

For these checks to be completed, we will require from you the relevant identification, including Proof of Address, References, a valid passport and proof that you have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
