Job DescriptionINOVA Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly motivated, sales-focused, and relationship-driven Lending Expert to join our Centralized Lending team at our Corporate location in Elkhart, Indiana.

The Lending Expert is responsible for originating primarily vehicle refinance loans through provided phone and online leads. You'll work directly with prospective and existing members throughout the entire lending process, from the initial application through approval and closing.
You'll communicate with members by phone, email, and online channels, collect and review documentation, educate members on their lending options, and recommend additional products and services when appropriate.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable talking with people, enjoys a fast-paced sales environment, has strong attention to detail, and is motivated by helping members while achieving individual and team goals.
This position offers a base hourly rate plus incentive, with the potential to earn $60,000–$90,000+ annually based on performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities-
Improve members' financial well-being by providing exceptional service and recommending INOVA products and services that best fit their individual needs.

Respond to member communications and vehicle loan inquiries in a timely manner while meeting INOVA's standards of contact.

Originate incoming vehicle loan applications by phone and online using provided leads.

Collect and review all necessary documentation to ensure applications are complete and accurate.

Analyze loan applications and make recommendations for approval or denial in accordance with established lending guidelines.

Manage the loan process from initial application through approval, closing, and funding.

Communicate consistently with applicants throughout the lending process and during loan closing.

Educate members on credit considerations, lending options, and available credit union products and services.

Identify opportunities to recommend additional loans, products, and services that may benefit members and support their financial goals.

Educate members on and cross-sell applicable ancillary products, including GAP, Mechanical Maintenance Protection (MMP), and Debt Cancellation.

Assist applicants with establishing membership eligibility and completing the membership process with INOVA.

Maintain an organized loan pipeline and complete timely follow-up activities to keep applications moving forward.

Work collaboratively with underwriting and other internal departments to provide a smooth and positive member experience.

Follow all credit union policies, procedures, lending guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Protect member confidentiality and maintain accurate and complete documentation.

Assist with departmental operations and perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of six months of experience in a sales, lending, financial services, member service, or related position preferred.

Consumer lending or loan processing experience preferred.

Strong sales and relationship-building skills with the ability to identify member needs and recommend appropriate solutions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Professional and confident phone communication skills are essential.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.

High level of accountability and the ability to take ownership of assigned applications and follow-up activities.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position located at INOVA Federal Credit Union's Corporate location in Elkhart, Indiana.
The Lending Expert will work as part of our Centralized Lending team and report to the Director of Centralized Lending.
This position will primarily work with provided phone and online leads related to vehicle refinance opportunities. The Lending Expert will manage the lending process from application through closing while maintaining consistent communication with applicants and internal departments.
The position combines member service, lending, sales, and relationship management. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to effectively manage a high volume of applications and follow-up activities.
