The Senior Vice President of Government Relations is responsible for the development and execution of Amplify's state and federal advocacy strategy.
Responsibilities of the SVP of Government Relations:

  • Develop and manage Amplify's policy goals and objectives in line with company strategy, working in collaboration with Amplify's senior executives and general managers.
  • Develop and execute legislative, communications, and procurement strategies to achieve Amplify's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and develop a team with responsibility for policy analysis, policy monitoring, and direct advocacy.
  • Source and manage consultants and other external resources in support of policy objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with state and local legislative, executive branch, and agency staff.
  • Oversee Amplify's compliance with relevant lobbying regulations.


Qualifications of the SVP of Government Relations:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years relevant experience in public policy or advocacy.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local K-12 education governance, regulatory, and budgeting environment.
  • Deep relationships with policy-makers at the state and national level.
  • Experience hiring, training, and managing in-house government relations professionals and lobbyists.
  • Unimpeachable integrity.
