About the Job

Varsity Tutors, is seeking a talented Corporate Paralegal to provide legal support to our growing corporate legal team. The Corporate Paralegal will assist with processing legal-related requests, various legal projects, the creation and execution of legal documents, and implementation of legal strategies and processes that impact the ongoing growth of the company. The person in this role will work directly with all members of our corporate legal team in our corporate office in downtown Clayton, MO.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in supporting legal staff, attorneys, or Chief Legal Officer
  • Corporate, litigation, or employment experience is a plus, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism
  • Technically savvy and capable of being productive using a variety of different software programs including Microsoft, Google, and Apple products, as well as other project management/tracking systems used by the legal department or company
  • Experience/comfort with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Airtable a plus, but not required
  • Ability to successfully perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills 
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
  • Ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level support to our Chief Legal Officer, attorneys, and legal team
  • Research statutes, regulations, and other legal items
  • Assist with creating, editing, and revising documents
  • Proactively demonstrate effective teamwork and communication with team members and all personnel
  • Effectively engage and participate in team meetings to discuss current projects and workflow
