Position Summary:

The Legal Support Specialist will support a team of legal and government affairs professionals dedicated to providing first-class service to clients. This individual will be relied upon for thorough, accurate and timely information regarding legislative and regulatory activities, as well as current events, that impact our practice. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

· Performs various administrative and clerical tasks including client interaction, extensive document production.

· Processes time entry, opens new matters, makes travel arrangements, processes reimbursement expenses, maintains calendar, collates information, writes reports, prepares agendas, reviews and prepares billing invoices, and other administrative duties, as needed by the department.

· Manages phone lines for supported attorneys, fielding calls and conveying messages as necessary.

· Performs overflow typing, filing, or photocopying as time permits and as requested by other attorneys.

· Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

· Assists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Skills & Competencies:

 

· Candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize their workload, possesses excellent proofreading skills, and work well under pressure.

· Candidate should be a team player, must have strong client service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a positive attitude.

· Strong ability to maintain high standards, use good judgment and seek out ways to contribute and anticipate needs.

· Proactive self-starter who can work well with minimal supervision and must be able to work in an organized, efficient manner and be willing to support the department with general administrative duties and special projects as needed.

· Candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to collaborate well in a team.

· Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

 

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

 

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

· Minimum 5 years in a professional administrative position in large or medium size organization.

· Prior experience with Legislative/Government Affairs work is also preferred.

· Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

· Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly

 

The expected pay range for this position is:

Annualized Range: $60,000 - $70,000

Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, voluntary critical illness and cancer insurance and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs may also be available in certain markets.
