General Purpose:
The Legal Support Manger provides hands-on leadership and oversight of the Legal Team Trainer and the legal teams supporting the firm’s legal services providers (the Legal Team Coordinators, the Legal Administrative Assistant Team, and Legal Document Services) (collectively, “Legal Teams”). The Legal Support Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining service excellence by optimizing team workflows, driving training and professional growth, and ensuring responsive and efficient support for clients and legal teams.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides oversight, direction, and strategy for the Legal Teams, including analysis and strategizing on processes and procedures to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
- Supervises and supports the Legal Teams, providing day-to-day direction, guidance, and support.
- Partners with leaders and Human Resources (HR) to work through escalated personnel/employee relations issues.
- Partners with Office Managers and other Legal Teams leaders to ensure work is evenly distributed and completed in a timely manner and that operations are efficient.
- Responsible for ensuring the Legal Teams have the skillsets, trainings, and tools necessary to be efficient and effective.
- Collaborates with legal services providers to ensure the Legal Teams are providing the necessary support, anticipating needs, and aligning resources to meet client and firm business needs.
- Evaluates and implements opportunities that enhance software and process across all Legal Teams.
- Proactively supports the Legal Teams and demonstrates a positive and collaborative approach to working with others.
- Participates in the employee lifecycle and in collaboration with appropriate leaders and HR, makes hiring decisions and termination recommendations, provides coaching, and manages performance.
- Performs additional duties and tasks assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the firm’s overall objectives.

Supervisory Duties:

- Review and approve timecards and vacation requests for direct reports, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Efficiently manage daily responsibilities in alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
- With the assistance of HR and the department leadership, manage employee discipline and, when necessary, termination in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines.
Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
- Seven (7) years of legal assistant experience required. Two (2) years of leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in a legal teaming/pooling model preferred.
- Experience evaluating, monitoring, and administering workflows preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn and utilize new software.
- Knowledge of BigHand, iManage, Intapp, Emburse, and CourtAlert, or similar software preferred.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people inside and outside the firm.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage the work to ensure consistency, productivity, and a high level of work product.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively independently, as part of a team, and as a leader of a team.
- Excellent judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills to manage a variety of responsibilities, including when to escalate concerns and/or issues.
- Must be highly collaborative.
- Ability to serve as a positive team leader, advocating for the team and the values of the firm with a focus on the business.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Work Environment:
Professional office atmosphere; exposure to computer screens. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing for prolonged periods. Position may require occasional travel and occasional off-hour meetings and events.
Requires the ability to be in an assigned H&H office a minimum of 3+ days per week. If working remotely, must have a workspace that meets the Telecommuting policy guidelines.

Schedule:
For the first 90 days of employment, this position will be in-office every day. After completion of 90 days, this position may allow for a hybrid schedule generally in-office a minimum of three (3) days per week. Additional days in-office may be required depending on business need and the demands of specific tasks. The hybrid work structure may change at any time, including the number of in-office days requirement.
Compensation:
Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Colorado Salary Range is $113,924.95 to $189,874.92 annually. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
