The Washington, D.C. office of Burr & Forman LLP seeks a legal support assistant to work 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS
- Answer phone and direct calls accordingly
- Welcome and direct guests and visitors to the office
- Schedule conference rooms; manage conference room calendars and setup instructions; and maintain reception area and conference room appearances
- Stock office services, copy rooms and kitchens
- Prepare beverage services and maintain appearance of kitchen.
- Coordinate orders for lunch, catering for meetings, office and client events, and flowers and gifts for special occasions.
- Receive, distribute and ship mail, packages and deliveries
- Assist with large copy jobs and binder preparation.
- Assist with planning and execution of client office events.
- Perform courier runs as needed.
- Enter billable time into the firm's billing software and submit expense reimbursements
- Assist with other administrative functions such as preparing routine letters, memos, or spreadsheets; opening matters; mailings; proofreading; and organizing client documents and files
- Other responsibilities as needed
THE ESSENTIALS
- A high school diploma or equivalent. Previous work experience in office setting preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Professional appearance and demeanor with commitment to providing exceptional client-service
- Highly organized, detail-orientated, proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team
- Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Some overtime may be required

The salary range for this position, $50,000 - $55,000, reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation. Actual compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education, work experience, geographic location, skills and competencies, industry knowledge, job responsibilities, market considerations and other business considerations.
