• Why this role matters: This role is integral to the success of the Contentious Probate Team, providing crucial administrative and organisational support that enables the team to operate efficiently and deliver high-quality service.

 What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll: Take on a position suited to individuals with legal PA or secretarial experience who are ready to take ownership of case progression and provide high-quality support in a dynamic legal environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Contributing as a valued and proactive member of the Charities and Private Wealth Disputes Group, with a particular focus on supporting the Contentious Probate Team.
• Providing comprehensive PA / secretarial support to fee earners in a client-focused setting.
• Coordinating travel arrangements and managing diaries to ensure fee earners are well-prepared.
• Handling matter setup while ensuring compliance with internal risk procedures.
• Drafting, amending, and maintaining precedent letters and house-style documents.
• Communicating professionally with clients and stakeholders on behalf of fee earners.
• Occasionally travelling to the Bristol office (travel expenses covered).
• Having the opportunity to develop into a supervisory role within the team.

What we’re looking for

• Experience as a Legal PA, Legal Support Assistant, or Legal Secretary.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.
• Commercial awareness and a professional, solutions-focused approach.
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal systems.
• Interest or experience in Charities, Private Wealth work is a plus, but not essential.
• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for innovation and shared success.
• This is a predominantly office-based role with flexibility to work from home. We encourage applications from candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance of our Exeter office.
