Zillow Group is seeking a highly effective Legal Operations Program Manager to drive complex projects and operational excellence across the L&C department. In this critical role, you will be responsible for owning a portfolio of L&C-driven cross-functional initiatives from intake to measurable outcomes, while following and continuously improving upon our project management standards and best practices.
You will maintain a comprehensive roadmap of in-progress and planned initiatives, working closely within our department to assess new ideas and support their justification and prioritization. You work with every team in the department, gaining exposure to many different subject matter areas. Because of the diverse nature of our work, you will partner extensively with business stakeholders, Sourcing, Product, Engineering, and other teams across Zillow. We are looking for an exceptional communicator and negotiator who can bridge the gap between our legal experts and the wider business to get things done. The successful candidate in this role will become a trusted partner known for clarity, follow-through, and operational rigor.
You Will Get To:
Act as the keeper of our strategic roadmap, maintaining clear visibility into what we are currently executing and what is planned for our most important and impactful work.
Assess new ideas and opportunities by applying critical analysis and leveraging metrics to support—or respectfully challenge—stakeholders, ensuring we prioritize only the most critical work.
Build and socialize business cases (problem statement, options, cost/benefit, risks, success metrics) for new initiatives.
Develop and drive comprehensive ADKAR-based change plans, ensuring effective change management.
Leverage your domain knowledge and strong communication skills to facilitate productive dialogue, ensure alignment across cross-functional teams, and keep everyone moving forward together without causing confusion or disruption.
Develop best practices and set the tone for the department’s project management standards, creating tools and methodologies that are scalable and repeatable.
Create, maintain, and disseminate project plans, status reports, and executive-ready updates that synthesize risks, decisions needed, and impacts to capacity, timeline, and adoption to all relevant stakeholders.
Anticipate bottlenecks, provide critical issue management, make strategic tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical or operational constraints.
Develop and deploy success metrics and tracking dashboards to evaluate progress and highlight areas for further optimization.
Operate with strong integrity and the ability to handle projects of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
We are looking for a highly strategic, tech-forward Legal Operations Program Manager with 7+ years of experience driving complex initiatives, who can leverage their deep domain expertise and exceptional communication skills to seamlessly bridge the gap between our legal experts and the wider business.
Required Qualifications:
Strong background and deep experience in Legal Operations, Legal practice, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated track record of successfully leading, managing, and deploying large, complex cross-functional initiatives.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with an inherent ability to speak the "language" of legal and compliance professionals.
Experience defining, tracking, and communicating operational metrics tied to adoption, cycle time, quality, and satisfaction
High proficiency in Airtable, Google Workspace, and modern AI/workflow automation tools (e.g., Glean, ChatGPT, n8n).
Strategic thinker who effortlessly balances high-level roadmap planning with hands-on, detail-oriented execution.
Highly adaptable relationship-builder capable of influencing and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Nice to Have:
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and/or previous experience as a practicing attorney
Experience directly supporting complicated legal matters, such as complex litigation or M&A transactions.
Prior formal project management education & certification (e.g., PMP)

What We Do
Join our mission to give the people power to unlock life’s next chapter. Our homes are the heartbeat of our lives, and we believe that finding a home shouldn’t be so hard in today’s always-on world. That’s why we’re reimagining the traditional rules of real estate to make it easier than ever to move from one home to the next. Our journey began nearly 15 years ago with a handful of employees and one big idea: to make it radically easier for people to move. We began by helping people understand and track their homes with the Zestimate, our proprietary algorithm, and then with advanced technology and valuable connections with real estate professionals. Today, Zillow has become a household name. People are more likely to search for “Zillow” than “real estate,” and our name is often used as a verb. While other industries have ushered in a new era of convenience, the time for seamless and convenient real estate experience is now. This is our next chapter as a company. We’re looking for smart, passionate adventurers to join us as we reimagine the real estate transaction and change the way people buy, sell, rent and finance their homes.
